Shell Shockers is a first-person shooter where every player is an egg with a gun. It has been running in browsers since 2017, and it still works the same way: open the page, type a nickname, pick a lobby, and start shooting. No download, no install, no launcher.

The controls are the standard browser-FPS set, and the game shows you the whole map of them before your first match. WASD to move, space to jump, shift to aim, left click to fire, R to reload, E to swap to your pistol, Q to throw a grenade, F for a melee swing. You pick a gun, you commit to how it wants you to play, and you find out quickly whether you were right. Aiming for the centre of an egg does the most damage, so body shots are not a shortcut.

There are four modes, and they cover the usual ground without much ceremony. Free For All and Teams are what they sound like. Captula the Spatula is capture the flag with a spatula. King of the Coop is king of the hill, and it is where the teamwork actually shows up, because holding a point requires more than aiming. Kills pay out in eggs, the in-game currency, which buys skins and cosmetic items rather than anything that changes a firefight.
