Undead Corridor is a first-person shooter with the horror stripped down to its most efficient shape: a hallway, and something in it that wants to get closer. It runs in the browser — no download, no account, no install.
The name is the whole level design. Rather than an open map to explore, you are given corridors — narrow, linear, and with only two possible directions for a threat to come from. That removes the part of a horror game that is about looking, and replaces it with the part that is about listening: the sound of something dragging itself toward you is the information you actually act on.
Ammunition is the pressure valve. You are always aware of how many rounds are left, and the decision to fire at something far away rather than wait for it to close the distance is the difference between surviving a section and dying in it. Distance is not safety, though — the corridors are short, and the things in them do not stay put.
It is a mouse-and-keyboard game in spirit, and it loads on touch screens with on-screen controls.
On cool games spot this page is the index entry: cover, description, and search terms. The game itself is loaded from a third-party web build in an iframe on Play, so nothing is bundled into the site. It is filed under action and tagged horror, so it appears alongside the rest of the horror games in the catalog.
Press Play and find out.
