Drift 3

Drift 3 is a one-button drift racer, and the button is really a timing window. It runs in the browser — no download, no account, no install.

You start by entering a name and picking a car, and then you are on a track with seven other drivers. There is no accelerator and no brake: the car is always moving, and the only thing you control is when it turns. Hold the left mouse button or spacebar to turn one way; release to turn back. Touch and release does the same on a phone.

What that produces is a game about drifting rather than steering. The car only corners well when you time the release to the exit of the turn, so a lap is a chain of small, precise taps rather than one long input. Colliding with traffic costs you speed and position, and the pack is dense enough that you cannot simply ignore the other seven cars.

The series has always been about that single skill, and this entry adds the structure around it: a garage to choose from, a name on the board, and opponents that punish hesitation. Races are short, so a bad result is worth one more attempt rather than a decision to stop.

It is designed for a phone held upright, and the keyboard version is the same gesture.
