Spacebar Clicker is an idle game where the input is a single key, and it gets a surprising amount of mileage out of that constraint. It runs in the browser — no download, no account, no install.
You click the ship, or you hit the spacebar, and light years accumulate. That is the first thirty seconds. The real game is the shop: light years buy upgrades that raise the value of each interaction, and then buy the things that interact for you.
Aliens are the middle layer. Recruiting them adds passive income, and each one you acquire changes the rate at which the counter climbs, which is the standard idle-game curve handled cleanly — early on you are clicking constantly, and eventually you are mostly deciding what to buy next. The numbers grow fast enough that the scaling itself is the entertainment.
The long-term goal is a jump to the next galaxy. Getting there requires enough accumulated light years that you have to actually engage with the upgrade tree rather than just hammering the key, so the game does have a shape beyond watching a number rise.
It is a keyboard-first game by design, but the on-screen ship works on touch, so it plays on a phone without losing anything.
On cool games spot this page is the index entry: cover, description, and search terms. The game itself is a licensed GameDistribution build that loads in an iframe on Play, so nothing is bundled into the site. It is filed under arcade and tagged clicker, so it appears alongside the rest of the clicker games in the catalog.
