Bus Stop Jam

Bus Stop Jam is a sorting puzzle with a traffic problem attached. It runs in the browser — no download, no account, no install.

Passengers are standing around a stop, each of them in a colour, and buses arrive one at a time. A bus will only take the people whose colour matches its own, so the game is about getting the queue into the right order before the wrong vehicle rolls up. Put a passenger on the wrong bus and you have created a problem further down the line; leave the right ones waiting and you have wasted a stop.

The pressure comes from the schedule. Buses keep arriving, the platform only holds so many people, and the moment there is nowhere to put somebody the run is over. That turns a simple matching task into a sequencing exercise — the correct move is usually to clear out the passengers nobody is coming for, rather than the ones that are easiest to place.

It is a tap or click game, and the board stays legible at phone sizes.
