Bloxd.io is a voxel sandbox in the browser, and the closest thing on this list to a full building game that needs no install. It runs in the browser — no download, no account, no install.

Everything is made of cubes, and the basic verbs are the ones you would expect: place blocks, break blocks, move, jump. What separates it from a single-player builder is that the worlds are shared. There is a lobby of modes rather than one game, and they run the range from survival and creative building to team games and small-scale combat, so the same engine carries both the sandbox crowd and the people who want a scoreboard.

The creative mode is the honest draw. You get a plot, an inventory of blocks, and no rules about what the result should look like — the community builds castles, mazes, obstacle courses and working redstone-style contraptions, and the interesting part of a session is often wandering into somebody else's half-finished idea.

It is a keyboard-and-mouse game at heart because building needs precision, but it runs on a phone with touch controls if that is all you have.
